WARRIP investigated the use of hydrated cement treated crushed rock base (HCTCRB). Our first look at this material showed that it was performing adequately with no cause for concern on the trial sections observed. We compared WA specifications to a few other states and to the Austroads guide. The strength and performance data analysed to date on these satisfactory performing pavements suggest a need for further investigations and testing of HCTCRB pavements to clarify and confirm desktop findings.
